Succession plan for Waldorf Technik: Markus Joos becomes new Head of Engineering

As part of his succession plan, Christian Boos will hand over the management of the Engineering department at Waldorf Technik GmbH to Markus Joos on October 1, 2022. Christian Boos will be supporting the Sales and Business Development departments going forward.

Christian Boos, who began his career at Waldorf Technik 30 years ago in Technical Sales, will hand over management of the Engineering department to Markus Joos on October 1, 2022. Boos, 63, will remain with the company and, at his own request, will in future provide support in the areas of project planning/sales and business development. "In the run-up to retirement, it was very important for me to sit down with management and plan my succession at an early stage. I'm delighted that we have been able to recruit Markus Joos as our new Head of Engineering. His experience and skills make him the perfect fit for us. Since I'll still remain active in the company, I'll be able to assist Markus Joos with any questions he may have during the familiarization phase. At the same time, I'll be delighted to continue supporting Waldorf Technik," says Boos, who attaches great importance to a smooth handover and early planning. In his future roles Boos will be able to benefit from his many years of experience in the company – some of which he spent as a co-partner – as well as from his extensive business network.

Markus Joos is a passionate mechanical engineer with extensive management experience. The 40-year-old mechanical engineering graduate majored in design and materials and has always worked in the areas of design and development in his previous professional posts. He brings with him extensive experience in the fields of special machine construction and automation technology. Markus Joos will be assuming responsibility for a key area at Waldorf Technik GmbH in charge of the design departments as well as the documentation and software departments. In this role, Joos's responsibilities will include further expanding the service orientation of the systems. In addition, the rapidly changing supply chain has made it essential to increase the level of system modularization, and this, too, will be a key area of focus for Markus Joos. Furthermore, harmonizing processes and tools with affiliated companies within the HAHN Group remains an important area of responsibility for the new incumbent. Here, Joos will be able to draw on his previous experience within various corporate groups.

The management of Waldorf Technik is extremely pleased that they were able to bring Markus Joos on board and that Christian Boos will also remain with the company. "Christian Boos held the key position of Director Engineering at Waldorf Technik for many years. We are excited that we were able to work with Christian to plan the succession of this position in a timely manner and that we can continue to count on his support. Markus Joos is a perfect fit for our team, both with his competence profile and on a personal level, and we are very much looking forward to working with him," explains Thomas Marufke, Managing Director of Waldorf Technik.
